Chrysler's growing stable of ENVI vehicles has been attracting attention from the media since the concepts first debuted last year, and the Chrysler 200C is probably the most popular example.

Jason Cammisa snapped these photos of the two-cylinder turbocharged engine under the hood of the 200C concept car. Chrysler uses the small gas engine to generate electricity and send power to the 268 hp electric motor. A range of 40 miles on electric power is promised and another 360 miles can be driven with the gasoline engine producing electricity after the battery charge is depleted.

Enjoy these shots of the concept powertrain. Rumor has it the 200C is more likely to reach production with a Phoenix V-6 engine under the hood than this fancy EV powertrain, at least initially.
