Long speculated to be unveiled at next month's Los Angeles auto show, Mazda confirmed plans to bring the 2010 Mazda3 to the party. The cover of the sedan will come off November 19, during Mazda's press conference at 12:20 local time.

The automaker says that the new Mazda3 has been designed for a more sporty ride while maintaining fuel economy and quietness. "Add in a new expressive face and Mazda's dynamic design elements and the all-new Mazda3 is everything a driver could ask for in a sports compact," the press release boldly states.

The current Mazda3 has sold approximately 1.8 million units and has won over 90 global motoring awards. It accounts for almost a third of the Mazdas sold every year.  The sedan will feature 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter engines at the show, and a five door hatchback will be revealed at a later date.
