As part of its "Series C financing round," the California-based automaker raised a whopping $65 million to finance its activities. Fisker says money was contributed from three sources, one of whom is an affiliate of the Qatar Investment Authority.
Fisker says the funding will help push its Karma plug-in hybrid sedan, shown in concept form at the 2008 Detroit auto show, into production. Although details surrounding the car's technology are still lacking, Fisker claims production will begin by the fall of 2009.
