With production of the 2009 Hummer H3T pickup starting this week, workers at GM's plant in Shreveport, Louisiana, have another product to build.

Built alongside the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and the Hummer H3 (all of which share basic mechanicals), the H3T is Hummer's first all-new model since the advent of the H3 in 2006, and is Hummer's first true pickup.  PickupTrucks.com notes the H3T is the only midsize pickup equipped with full-time four-wheel-drive, 32-inch tires, and skid plates as standard equipment.

A base H3T, equipped with a 239-hp 3.7-liter I-5 and a five-speed manual transmission, starts at $31,495.  Alpha models, which eschew the I-5 for a 5.3-liter V-8, begin at $36,760.
