After NHTSA's requisite testing, the Genesis was awarded five-star ratings - the best possible score - in both side- and frontal impact collisions. The five-star ratings both indicate occupants have a ninety percent chance or greater of walking away from an impact without serious injury.
Hyundai attributes the scores to extensive use of high-strength steel throughout the Genesis' body structure. Other standard safety features on the Genesis include electronic active head restraints, four-wheel anti-loc disc brakes, stability control, and a total of eight airbags.
