That’s bold talk considering the success the MX-5 has enjoyed. The first generation became the world’s best selling sports car, and the current iteration debuted in 2006 to strong reviews.
Now Mazda designers admit the last redesign was too conservative. The basic formula of a no frills roadster will remain untouched, but the delivery should be a complete departure from the past.
Before the new Miata comes out, the current MX-5 will receive a mild refresh.
