Spoon Sports to Convert Acura NSX to NSX-R

We've seen plenty of aftermarket conversions for Corvettes, but we like what Honda tuner Spoon Sports is doing for U.S.-spec Acura NSXs: converting them into NSX-Rs.

Although Honda was able to find a comfortable niche for its mid-engined sports car via its luxury division, the thought of offering the NSX-R - which eschewed luxuries like sound deadening and a spare tire in the name of speed - didn't jive with the Acura brand.  While enthusiasts the world over could play with the NSX-R, we were 'remiss' to have only the NSX-T (which added weight) until 2005.

Honda NSX-R Engine

From what Japan Performance Car News reports, Spoon plans on adding all the requisite NSX-R parts, including a re-tuned suspension, carbon fiber hood and spoiler, underbody trays, larger brake parts, and significant engine tuning.
We think it's a sweet idea - but wonder if it'll be a sweet deal.  Japanese-market parts aren't usually cheap, and the conversion work required to bring a car into 'R'-spec is exhausting.
