If our review of the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 leaves you depressed because the darned car weighs so much (3324 lbs), maybe this Katech Z06 ClubSport package will cheer you up. Reducing a performance car's weight just might be the next big thing and Katech is looking to be a leader in this game. They dropped the weight of a Corvette Z06 from 3180 lbs to 2915 lbs, or 2825 lbs if you choose the fully optimized package.

The Katech diet includes two-piece, cross-drilled 14-inch front and 13.6-inch rear Brembo rotors, a double-adjustable coil-over suspension system, 15-spoke forged aluminum wheels shod with sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, an appearance package made mostly of carbon fiber, a twin-disc clutch, a lighter exhaust system, and a lighter battery. Those looking for the ultimate in weight reduction can give up the radio, A/C, and carpet, as well.

The price for this lightness is a mere $109,000, and it's only available from one dealer in the metro Detroit area. If you're looking for a track vehicle, this just might be the ticket; those looking to spend more time on the street will probably be more comfortable in a ZR1
