2008 Volkswagen CC Gold Coast Edition

Although we think of British Colonialism or a Chicago neighborhood whenever we hear the name, Volkswagen saw fit to apply the Gold Coast moniker to its newest "coupe," creating the 2008 Volkswagen CC Gold Coast Edition.

Celebrating the CC's North American launch, the Gold Coast edition is little more than a color and trim package.  The four-door CC wears a coat of DuPont "Pepe Pepper" paint, which reportedly combines silver, brown, and gold hues.  A similar color is found inside, where "latte"-colored seating wears bronze piping; dashboard trim and door panels are also colored to match.

VW hoped to add extra 'bling' on the exterior, adding 19-inch alloy wheels, a new rear-deck spoiler and custom ground effects.  We're told the latter helps emphasize the 'sporty' aspect of the sedan, which - given the 280-hp 3.6-liter TFSI V-6 underhood, may be a possibility.

Although CCs are expected to arrive in U.S. dealers this fall with prices starting at $27,000, no details on timing, pricing, or production figures for the Gold Coast edition have yet been released.
