It's a Lancer; no, it's an Evo.  Actually, we're not sure what lurks in the shadows of this photograph, but we're told Mitsubishi will unveil it during the 2008 Paris Motor Show in October.

We do know that this isn't the Lancer Sportback, although that car will also launch in Paris.  Instead, Mitsubishi describes this vehicle as simply a "world premiere."  From the pieces we can see, the vehicle's front fascia resembles that on the current Lancer and Lancer Evolution ranges.

Could it be yet another variation of the Evo?  Perhaps, but we've also heard the Outlander crossover could receive the Lancer nose in an upcoming facelift. We'll know for sure come October 2, when Mitsubishi will reveal all.  Stay tuned to Automobile Magazine for the latest news from Paris.
