Suzuki, perhaps best known for its high-performance motorcycles, is stepping up its involvement in the automobile field. The European patent office has just received a few outline drawings for the Kizashi, a mid-size car that Suzuki hopes will give it a firm foothold in the automotive world, particularly in the U.S.

Reminiscent of the Chevy Malibu, Suzuki hopes that this car will open up a new market in the United States. Power will come from four or six-cylinder engines and all-wheel-drive will be available. The most powerful engine is reportedly good for 300 hp. Some speculate that the first unveiling of the Kizashi may come as soon as the Paris motor show next month.
