If you're looking for a sporty compact sedan that won't break the bank, the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart may be right up your alley.  Mitsubishi announced that the Ralliart will start at $27,165, including a $675 destination charge.

Fitting between the Lancer GTS and the Evolution, the Lancer Ralliart features a detuned version of the Evo's turbocharged 2.0-liter DOHC I-4, producing 237 hp, coupled only through Mitsubishi's dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

The Ralliart also comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, Yokohama Advan tires, limited-slip front- and rear differentials, traction control and active stability controls.

Though the standard equipment list runneth over, options are very limited.  The $2750 Recaro Sport Package adds HID headlamps, a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate stereo with Sirius satellite radio, and the Recaro sport seats found on the Evolution GSR.  Buyers may also spring for a navigation system, available either as a factory-installed option or a dealer-installed accessory.
