A staple of the Mustang for some forty years, the galloping horse mascot has been subtly revised for the 2010 pony car. Ford claims the emblem, which appears more muscular and defined than its predecessor, echoes changes we'll see on the production car.
Ford says the chrome finish will be "lightly" tinted on V-6 models, while GT cars will be adorned with horses clad in black chrome.
This marks only the fourth revision to the pony logo since 1962, when it first appeared on the two-seat Mustang I concept. The horse was subsequently modified in 1974, 1994, and 2005, respectively.
