Peugeot Considering Return to U.S. Shores

We were disappointed to hear MG will not be coming to our shores, but across the channel, PSA Peugeot Citroën is thinking differently.

The French automaker recently said it would reconsider entering the North American market with its Peugeot brand. The changing tastes of American buyers might present an opportunity for its line of small cars. A return to U.S. shores would be part of an aggressive global growth strategy. The group aims to sell 3.4 million vehicles in 2009 and 4 million in 2010.

If you are ready to place a down payment on a diesel-powered 308cc cabriolet, don’t hold your breath. Peugeot said it is focusing on China, Russia, and South America before it seriously considers the U.S. market.
