Wave bye-bye to the scantily-clad women. The parts firm-turned-promoter of tuner car shows, drifting championships - and yes, notorious bikini contests - has suspended all events for the remainder of 2008.
Following a disappointing spring season, the entire NOPI organization is undergoing a complete restructuring. Poor weather at several early events, coupled with a weak U.S. economy, was reportedly enough to keep spectators - and their money - away from NOPI's shows.
Although the company is working with racers and sponsors to move forward, we expect any future NOPI schedules or events to be severely downsized.
