TVR Sagaris

After a series of corporate buyouts that had more twists and turns than a daytime soap opera, British sports car manufacturer TVR appears to be reborn.  Enthusiasts and dealers were invited to the firm's headquarters in Wesham, England, this morning for a look at the new 2009 Sagaris coupe.

Based heavily upon the last Sagaris, which was launched in 2004, the new car sports a few slight changes both inside and out.  Perhaps most notable is an all-new interior, which attempts to streamline its appearance with a new 'infotainment' control system in the center stack.

Mechanically, the 'new' Sagaris uses the same 380-hp 4.0-liter I-6 found in previous cars, but is equipped with revised suspension and brake systems.

The firm, still owned by Russian billionaire Nikolai Smolensky, intends to build the Sagaris in both left- and right-hand-drive configurations, for sale throughout Europe and the Middle East.  If all goes well, TVR could resume production as early as December of 2008.
