The Chrysler 300C no longer captures the attention of the media, but three years after its startling debut, the car remains a shockingly good modern execution of the classic big American sedan. The design is still spot-on: a long passenger compartment makes the car look and feel big, but the trunk is extremely short and the hood is also pretty short, keeping the overall size very reasonable. The interior is well styled, and even the materials are 90 percent there. Steering that's both light and slow combined with the car's overall feeling of heft prevent this from being a sports sedan, but the car certainly rides well and its 5.7-liter V-8 moves it along with ease. If Chrysler's mid-size cars had one-tenth the magic of the 300, the company wouldn't be in the unfortunate situation it's in today.
