News that Cadillac's 2009 CTS-V lapped the Nurburgring in 7 minutes 59 seconds was exciting, but we were eagerly awaiting video of the record-setting event.  As footage from the run made its way online today, our wait is over.

Cadillac claims the CTS-V used for the run was entirely production intent, sporting no significant modifications from what will be offered at your local showroom.  That said, Cadillac did fit the car with a roll bar, six-point seat belt, fire suppression system and a few cameras, actually adding some weight to the 4200-lb sedan.

Credit must also be given to the clean driving of GM Performance Division executive John Heinricy, who makes the most of the 550-hp sedan across all 17.6 miles of the track.

We'll let you enjoy the video at the link below, while we now anxiously wait to make the CTS-V's 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 sing in a similar manner.
