$39K is a lot of money for a Hyundai, but buyers will get a pretty good value for all-wheel-drive versions of the Veracruz Limited: seven-passenger seating; attractive, high-quality leather seats; nav; XM; heated seats; sunroof; a big 3.8-liter V-6; slick mood lighting; etc. I like the stylish interior, and the slick, speaker-framing bump on the center of the dash top reminds me of a premium home stereo.
On most road surfaces, the Veracruz shows off its Toyota-fighting status, but over rough sections, it becomes clear that this 4400-pound vehicle could use a bit of polishing in the ride/handling department. Also, the transmission can be a bit indecisive and sometimes clunks into gear on full-throttle upshifts.
The aux input is clearly a tack-on device, as it requires you to tune the radio to 88.3 and then flick a rocker switch to activate it; on the plus side, the sound quality isn't bad.
