2008 Saturn Outlook

Although the Saturn Outlook might not make one’s heart beat faster, it’s a very nice car that feels solid and looks great.

The Outlook is very much like its corporate sibling the GMC Acadia which, as we discovered in our long-term test, is not a bad thing. The interior is nearly identical in terms of fit and finish and there are just as many storage bins and cubbies and it drives just as well. So I was surprised to find out that the Outlook is priced at least a thousand dollars less than the GMC. The GMC is handsome but the Saturn has a bit more character with its swept-back headlights and bits of chrome tastefully scattered about the exterior. The exterior color, called Garnet, looks great on this car. To me, the exterior color of this Outlook speaks volumes about where Saturn is as a car company compared with a couple of years ago: they are taking chances and giving consumers something that looks and feels modern as opposed to the bland, sub-par vehicles they pumped out for so many years.
