Read Rusty Blackwell's comments on driving the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

My colleagues are right—this engine is freakin' amazing. It isn't as revvy or as silky-smooth as the new BMW M3's, but the 6.2-liter V-8 simply screams, and all that addictive power is hard not to love. Or keep the gas pedal off the floorboard. And the steering is fabulous, too, as noted. I thought the roughish ride was acceptable considering the aggressive rolling stock and the great handling and body control.

I really like how this car looks, too. The AMG treatment—front and rear fascias, sweet wheels, etc - looks absolutely mean as hell. I love the seats that embrace you passionately, giving you the confidence to keep pushing the super C closer and closer to its lofty limits.

Add in the fact that the C-class's fundamental ergonomics and electronic doodads are superior to those of the 3-series family (is there anyone besides Helmut Panke who'd actually prefer iDrive over Benz's new Comand system?) … Oh, who cares about that when the C63 is so quick, so feisty, so loud, and so nimble?
