Read Joe Lorio's comments on driving the 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

At a time when so many SUVs seem overstyled and bloated with faux machismo, the Range Rover Sport strikes one as being refreshingly free of such nonsense, and far more pleasant to drive for it. The body isn't perched absurdly high up off the wheels (in fact, the standard air suspension lets it squat down at rest), so getting in and out is much easier, particularly for children. The windowline doesn't rise up toward the rear in some misguided attempt to convey action, instead it goes straight back providing uncommon visibility to the rear. A low cowl and a flat, unstylized hood make it easy to judge the front. Add a surprisingly tight turning circle and you get a luxury SUV that doesn't feel like a handful in an urban environment.
