Read Rusty Blackwell's comments on driving the 2008 Hummer H2.

This thing is big for the sake of being big. Due to its size and poor visibility, it's extremely cumbersome to drive the H2 around town (not to mention the fact that pedestrians and other motorists constantly shoot you evil looks). Driving very conservatively, I got an indicated 12 mpg (the same mileage that I achieved two years ago when I drove an H2 450 miles, mostly on the freeway with the cruise set at 75 mph!). When you do get on the gas, the H2 is quite quick, but then you can actually see the hole widening in the ozone layer. The interior is much nicer, but it's still pretty tacky; I do like the reddish color of the leather seat trimmings. Lots of chrome inside and out makes a big statement -- just not one I'd ever want to make.
