Will a coupe or wagon join the sedan and sport truck?
When we first heard of the Holden Coupe 60 concept a G8 coupe immediately came to mind. As the G8 sedan and forthcoming sport truck are based on Holden's Commodore line, it would make sense that a coupe version would come here as well.
Inside Line is reporting that the G8 coupe is not dead. If Holden ends up producing a coupe on the rear-wheel-drive Zeta platform and Lutz and his followers get their way, the two-door would be offered in GXP and GT variants to match the sedan. Inside Line has renderings of a 6.2-liter V-8-powered GXP coupe.
As for the rest of the G8 lineup, we think a wagon makes more sense than the sport truck and would like to see one developed for Pontiac. It would not only look better than the two-door ute, but be the most practical of the G8s. Inside Line's sources claim that it was dropped when Dodge axed the Magnum, presumably because that indicated a lack of interest in rear-drive V-8 wagons. We're still interested.
