Read Rusty Blackwell's comments on driving the 2008 Audi TT 3.2.

I think the new TT looks great in white, but it's definitely not a proper sports car, as Marc notes. I have little/no experience driving anything with the previous VR6, but I think this engine sounds pretty good and is acceptably torquey. Still, I prefer the spicier 2.0T in the TT. The brakes are quite good, but grip in this front-wheel-drive-based AWD car is lacking. Steering is blah for a sports car. I love the little indicators in the sideview mirrors: not as distractingly big as those in the VW GTI, but just noticeable enough to be a classy detail. Overall, this is a comfortable, sexy piece of jewelry, but it's not my top pick in this class.
